New Zealand’s Top Dating Advice Website

Elite Singles Review

Elite Singles is an online dating service aimed at professionals. The average age of the member’s ranges from 30 – 55 and over two thirds of members hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree. Our Elite Singles review examines both the advantages and disadvantages of using the site, so you can make an informed decision.

What are the advantages of Elite Singles?

Elite Singles has a unique matching process. Members complete a personality questionnaire when they sign up, and are matched with other members on the basis of this and other search preferences. A team manually checks the site regularly, verifying all profiles, automatically removing inactive members, and proactively removing users that are deemed to not be serious. This means that members have a smooth browsing experience and can focus on dating.

Another advantage of this service is that the website is fully responsive and optimised for almost all platforms, including desktop, mobile, smart phone and table. Elite Singles have recently launched an iOS app meaning that you can find dates on the go.

What are the disadvantages of Elite Singles?

Elite Singles doesn’t offer free trials so it can be difficult to decide whether it is for you. While there is a Basic option, much of the sites features are limited, so it doesn’t really give you a true idea of what it is like. It is also one of the most expensive options available in New Zealand, costing up to $89.95 per month.

Other free dating websites are a lot easier on the wallet. We have also heard stories of people finding it hard to cancel their subscription once they do not want to use the site anymore, so this is something to be aware of.

What features do different tiers of membership offer?

Elite Singles offers a Basic (free) membership, as well as Premium and Premium Plus options. The Basic membership is intended to let users test the look and feel of the site, allowing users to have limited communication, take the initial personality test and view partner suggestions. As a premium member you have access to a number of extra features.

Alongside the possibility of unlimited communication, with a premium membership you may also view all of your suggested partners’ pictures and see information about visitors to your profile. The Premium Plus membership, meanwhile, opens features like “Have you met…” which delivers up to 20 additional partner introductions each day, as well as giving read receipts for messages and the ability to have “Verified Member” status on the site.

Elite Singles uses staggered subscriptions, which cost less with a longer membership, and offer two premium options in addition to the free basic membership. These are called Elite Singles Premium Light and Elite Singles Premium Plus.

How much does Elite Singles cost?

Elite Singles Premium Light costs: $19.95 per month for a 12 month membership, $34.95 per month for a 6 month membership, $44.95 for a 3 month membership, $79.95 for a 1 month membership. Conversely, Elite Singles Premium Plus costs $22.95 for a 12 month membership, $39.95 for a 6 month membership, $49.95 per month for a 3 month membership, and $89.95 for a 1 month membership. All costs are expressed in NZD.
